The Running Tongue
Charlie is one of 21 contributing dance artists involved in The Running Tongue:
The Running Tongue is a new film installation work by Siobhan Davies and David Hinton. Made in collaboration with sound artists, animators and 21 dance artists footage of a running woman is played continuously in a loop, freezing at random intervals to reveal selected frames treated by each of the artists. Combining collage, repetition, static and moving image, the frozen frames unveil a scene embedded in reality, with fleeting moments of strange, surreal and visually poetic activity.
This summer the film will show as part of 24 Frames Per Second, a major exhibition of 24 commissioned screen-based works by 18 Australian and six international artists.
