I’m a choreographer, performer, teacher, and curator. I make work in theatres, galleries, studios, and out in the landscape, often using improvisation to explore how I move, experience and act in the world through my body/mind/imagination in interaction with others.

I co-run Wainsgate Dances, an artist-led programme in a former chapel in Yorkshire. Together with other artists, I create a space for people to meet, make, and share dance – and other things – ways of interacting and creating. I think of dance/movement as a way of understanding or engaging with the world — a physical approach to being in it and responding to what’s happening.

It’s a practical and imaginative practice, embroiled in the mess, the unexpected, the unformed, and the queer.

Figuring… and not figuring things out by doing. I’m a pathological optimist – I believe in keeping on keeping on – in making things and putting them out in the world to be seen and felt and thought about.
